Capri Villa

Just off the coast of Naples and Salerno, between Ischia and Positano, a great rock soars like a dream lost in the blue sea that surrounds it. This Mediterranean jewel is the island of Capri.

Exclusive Italian Villas is located on the most prestigious street of Capri, Via Tragara. Its coveted location offers guests convenient access to shopping districts, entertainment, recreation, fine dining, and beautiful scenary. You can reach Capri by ferry or hydrofoil from Naples, Sorrento, Positano, or Amalfi.

Alternatively, we can arrange on request a private boat charter that will come and pick you up wherever you are.

Capri, with its stunning sapphire waters, floral-hung alleyways and dramatic cliffs, is Italy's most glamorous seaside getaway. Once the chosen debaucherous destination of Roman emperors, the island now attracts tourists from all over the world seeking their time in the bright Italian sun. Thought by Romans to be the home of the Sirens, the island still lures visitors with its seductive beauty and the possibility of relaxing in a Capri villa.

Located a mere twenty miles from Naples off the Amalfi coast, Capri is an extremely popular tourist destination and becomes very crowded with vacationers during July and August. One way to avoid crowded, overpriced hotels is to rent a Capri villa for the duration of your stay. Such accommodations provide you with more privacy, room to breathe and a kitchen to cook meals if you wish to avoid jam-packed restaurants during peak times.

The two main centers of the island are Capri Town and Anacapri. Capri Town is a shopper's paradise and the more popular tourist destination. The streets are littered with such high-end Italian boutiques as Armani, Prada and Dolce & Gabbana, as well as the local perfumery Carthusia. Anacapri is less touristy and is a wonderful place to find such treasures as crafts, pottery and local food and wines. Both areas feature multiple options of Capri rentals in various sizes.

Capri's dramatic coastline is best appreciated by sea. Explore the crags and caverns on a boat tour, making sure to visit the famous Blue Grotto. While the waters surrounding the island are a stunning blue, the Blue Grotto is a place of exceptional beauty. Sunshine streaming underneath the water at the narrow entrance brilliantly lights the water-filled cavern to stunning effect. Regardless of where on the island your Capri villa is located, a boat tour is always a short walk away -- the island is less than two miles long from end to end.

Eating out in Capri is just as remarkable an experience as elsewhere in Italy. Elegant restaurants and cafes abound on the island, with many situated in and around the Piazza Umberto. This area can be considered the social center of the city, and as such is often crowded during the day. To enjoy a quieter meal, drinks and possibly a celebrity sighting or two, wait for the day-trippers to clear out while enjoying a glass of wine in your Capri villa before heading over to the piazza. When you do, be sure to sample the island's own insalata Caprese made of mozzarella, basil, tomato and olive oil, and the potent local apertif limoncello. Enjoy fresh fish caught that day in the same azure waters you look at as you are eating.

Getting around Capri is easy. The island has a good transportation system, featuring boats, buses, taxis and a funicular railway. The island is walkable but can surprise with some very steep hills. Capri Town and Anacarpi are easily explored on foot and visitors delight in the charming narrow streets. A Capri villa can be found in many different areas of the island, including locations central to the action and those a bit more remote.

A visit to this jewel of the Mediterranean is truly an unforgettable experience.
