Napoli Villa
Naples is the capital of the region of Campania and the province of Naples. The city is known for its rich history, art, culture, and gastronomy, all of which played an important role throughout much of its existence. The city itself is more than 2,800 years old. Naples is located halfway between two volcanic areas, the volcano Mount Vesuvius and the Phlegraean Fields, sitting on the coast by the Gulf of Naples.
Exclusive Italian Villas is located in the center of Naples on Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Its location is five to 10 minutes’ walking distance from Naples’ prestigious Piazza dei Martiri and its shopping area Via dei Mille. The beautiful apartment is located in a historic building facing Corso Vittorio Emanuele and near Naples’ local train stations Cumana, Stazione Mergellina, and Naples Funicolare. The main harbor for the island is only a 15 minute walk from the apartment.
You can reach Naples by airplane, train, ferry, or car.
Seaside Napoli is a historic town on the glittering gulf of Naples. In the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, Napoli was established by the Greeks, strengthened by the Romans and occupied by both the Spanish and the French. Due to these influences, the city has a continental feel, immense character and rich culture.
Renting a Napoli villa offers the convenience of being in the thick of the action. The city itself is lived in and beloved by its residents and looks it. Do not expect a pristine environment like some touristy European cities. That being said, Napoli is a lively and fun city with many attractions for visitors and easy access to nearby coastal towns.
There are many sites to see within the city a short walk from your Napoli villa. Visit the Museo Archeologico Nazionale to see wall paintings and artifacts from the once-buried cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum and other area excavation sites, as well as the Farnese collection of Roman sculptures. Follow up with a visit to the two towns that fell victim to the Vesuvius eruption, a short train or bus ride away. The Museo Nazionale di Capodimonte displays many Italian Renaissance and Baroque paintings.
Love opera? Step out of your Napoli villa one night for a late dinner and evening at the Teatro San Carlo, Napoli's famous opera house. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (as is the historic city center of Napoli) the theater is the oldest continually active venue of its kind in Europe and offers performances of not only opera but also ballet and symphony.
Napoli is easily accessible by plane, car, train and bus, and visitors can also reach the nearby attractions of Amalfi, Sorrento and Capri with just as much ease. The traffic situation within the city is chaotic, to say the least. Luckily it is an extremely walkable municipality, and visitors with a Napoli villa can also take advantage of the reliable and inexpensive subway and tram system. Various ferries and hydrofoils can quickly connect you with nearby coastal towns, making it easy to travel back and forth from your Napoli rental.
Neopolitan pizza is a delicious treat, and what better time to celebrate the gastronomical delight than during the Festival of the Pizza at Mostra d'Oltremare. Supported y the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, the celebration was created in 1984 to carry the tradition of this pie to the world and dictate the rules of what makes up an official Neopolitan pizza. The festival is held each September.
No matter what time of year you visit, food in the region is delicious and abundant. Meal times in Italy may be later than the average traveler is used to: lunch does not begin until 1 PM and dinner 8 PM, with many locals waiting until 9 PM or later to dine out. If you wish to avoid touristy crowds, the later the better. Alternately you may choose to prepare one or more of your meals in your Napoli villa, using fresh local ingredients from nearby farmers markets and grocers. Remember that most shops and restaurants close for several hours after lunch for the afternoon tradition of siesta.
