Location and distances
Conversano, a typical Apulian town, is easily accessible and an excellent base for exploring the neighbouring towns, icons of Apulia such as Alberobello, Polignano a Mare and Ostuni, the "white city". Conversano is easily reached thanks to the SS16 state road with the Polignano a Mare-Conversano exit; it is a very elegant town characterised by the castle on the highest point of the hill on which the town stands, in a position dominating the entire surrounding area up to the sea, and which delimits the old Largo della Corte, a large, irregular-shaped square that has always been the centre of town life. The neighbouring areas represent endless possibilities of getting to know this area of Apulia, both by exploring the typical little towns of the hinterland, first of all Alberobello, about 20 km away, where you can see the famous Trulli, unique constructions in the world and Unesco Heritage Site, that make the visit to Rione Aia Piccola a truly mystical experience. Polignano a Mare, just 7 km away, offers the opportunity of admiring the blue sea from its terraces up high and to explore its small historic town centre in the search for never-seen-before areas. The beach of Lama Monachilee, the most photographed area of Polignano a Mare, offers wonderful views both when seen from the top of the terraces or experienced while enjoying a good swim in the blue sea to explore the caves. Monopoli, the renowned town of 99 districts, a active and populous port of the region, offers unique views of the sea and a historical centre rich in history, featuring many beautiful churches, starting from the Cathedral of Santa Maria della Madia which still preserves intact some of the raft beams with which the painting of the Madonna della Madia arrived in 1117; the Church of Santa Maria Amalfitana erected on a cave and restored several times; the Church of the Purgatorio where you can see the ossuary of the monks; and the Church of San Domenico with its elegant façade. The Safari Zoo of Fasano, about 35 km from the villa, with its 140 hectares of land and over 200 species of animals on 140 hectares of terrain and in complete freedom, in a splendid setting of centuries-old olive trees and with the background of the sea, offers a unique experience for adults and children.
