Interior

MAIN VILLA: The 3-storey main unit is an Art Nouveau-style villa dating back to the early 18th century, restructured and enlarged in 1918 by an Austrian architect, full of precious friezes, mosaics, decorations, columns and capitals in Lecce stone that give it a timeless charm. On the ground floor, a large entrance hall with fountain served by a dressing room leads into the hall of Wisteria, large and bright thanks to its balconies overlooking the pool; there is also a guest bathroom here. Following this is the hall of Fishes that invites you to the majestic winter garden, spectacular with its Art Nouveau windows. The hall of Flowers is a delightful dining room with an impressive fireplace in Lecce stone. A hallway leads to the large, functional kitchen and to a small kitchen with attached storage room. Also on the ground floor are two large suites, one with a private sitting room with two additional extra sleeps (on request) and both with en-suite bathroom with shower. An elegant staircase in Lecce stone leads up to the first floor with five luxurious suites, all with en-suite bathroom. From the more reserved Provençal suite, furnished in the style from which it takes its name (en-suite bathroom with shower), we move on to two, more modern, suites characterised by crystal walls (both with en-suite bathrooms with shower), then on to the master suite (king size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower), furnished with fine, early 19th century furniture and with a sitting room and then, finally, to the Panoramic suite (French size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower and whirlmassage tub) tub and stunning views of the pool area. On request, the villa also has, in the basement, a large champagnerie furnished in modern style: the ideal location for organising private parties. ANNEX: The second unit is about 30 metres from the main villa and has also undergone careful renovation. The entrance is located in front of the entrance to the main villa and leads into the large, already-mentioned, living area characterised by large windows that brighten the rooms and highlight the characteristic finishing touches of an environment that preserves a strong Salento soul. In the same area is also a guest bathroom and a characteristic stone staircase that leads up to the first floor with two suites, both with en-suite bathroom with shower and private terrace. Spectacular the loft with glass balustrades that from this same first floor overlooks the ground floor and ideally combines the pure Salento style of the living area with the more modern style that characterises the suites on the first floor.

Park

The fenced-in outdoor area extends for about 10000 sq m. Close to the main building, and more precisely to the right of it, is the large solarium area, paved with large slabs of local stone, with the elegant infinity pool. Guests can reach this area down the flight of steps that connects the elegant portico characterised by imposing columns of Lecce stone, where you can have dine while admiring the elegance of the villa reflected in the crystal-clear water of the pool. Numerous tall trees such as pines and cypresses stand in various points near the buildings ensuring lots of natural shade in the parking area as well as in the areas next to the solarium. There are also various areas of lawn adorned with flowering plants and, in particular, next to the pool area is a small citrus grove with seating from where you can enjoy the view of the whole majestic property while reading a good book or sipping an apéritif, perhaps at sunset when villa beautifies itself in preparation for an evening with its guests.

Swimming Pool

The elegant, refined infinity pool characterises the large solarium area and its considerable size (16 x 8 m) guarantees guests ideal comfort. To get to it, you go through the large windows of the hall of Wisteria that lead out to the external portico and down the flight of steps. The pool, lined in turquoise PVC with chlorine purification and Roman steps for access to the water, measures 16 x 8 m with a constant depth of 1,20 m. The many seats around the pool guarantee guests the ideal place to relax completely with the show put on by villa that is mirrored in the crystal-clear water waiting for the evening, when the pool lights up, enhancing the enchanting atmosphere of the surrounding area. Location and distances

The town of Casarano is located in south-western Salento, 45 km from Lecce, the provincial capital, and 15 km from the Ionian coast. Its location allows easy access to the various towns of interest in the entire province of Lecce and, in particular, the famous seaside towns of Gallipoli and Santa Maria di Leuca and those of Maglie, Nardò and Galatina up to enchanting Lecce, all easily reachable along the highway. Casarano offers its visitors various historically interesting spots, above all the Crypt of the Crucifix, a natural hypogeum transformed into a place of worship by the Byzantines in the 11th century, with, nearby, the ruins of the old monastery that belonged first to the Basilian monks and then to the Olivetans and which represents an important prehistoric, historical and naturalistic site; the Mother Church, built in the typical early 18th century Lecce Baroque style, is dedicated to Maria SS. Annunziata. Its elegant façade is characterised by a balustrade and by the presence of three niches, the first of which, central and above the portal, conserves the statue of San Giovanni Elemosiniere; the others, at the sides, conserve the statues of Saints Peter and Paul. Speaking of which, the cult of the patron saints of the town is particularly felt: San Giovanni Elemosiniere, cited a little while ago, and the Madonna della Campana to whom is dedicated the church that stands on a 160 m high hill which overlooks the panorama of the whole town and the neighbouring localities. Among the monuments we should mention are the Torre dell'Orologio (Clock Tower) and Il Sedile located in the characteristic Piazza San Giovanni; the Column of San Giovanni Elemosiniere; the Vittoria Alata (Winged Victory), a bronze monument located in the William Ingrosso municipal gardens; in Contrada Cisternella, on the other hand, is a medieval necropolis dating back to the 8th – 13th centuries. The characteristic and picturesque alleyways of the historic town centre bestow on visitors the atmosphere of times past; strolling along them it is easy to find old palaces and typical trattorias where you can taste the flavours and breathe in the characteristic aromas of the cuisine of the Salento hinterland.
