Description
RECEPTIVE STRUCTURE. Baia L’Aura takes its name from the private little village of ancient fishermen's cottages, immersed in the tranquillity of a garden overlooking the sea, located in southern Sicily, just outside Ispica, where the Mediterranean and Ionian seas meet. The tastefully restored cottages offer carefully furnished areas, combining contemporary details with a relaxed, summery atmosphere. Community life revolves around the main house, which has an indoor and outdoor living room, a dining room with communal kitchen and a bedroom. The other bedrooms are located in independent units, each with private bathroom and private outdoor area. Outdoors, one can choose between several terraces: some ideal for sunbathing, others designed for relaxing or al fresco dining. A short flight of stairs leads to a platform overlooking the sea, equipped with sunbeds, a shaded awning and an outdoor shower, from where you can dive directly into the crystal-clear waters. The free and the equipped beaches of Porto Ulisse are just minutes away, the centre of Ispica is about a 15-minute drive away and Noto is just a few minutes further along. This makes the property the ideal base for exploring an area rich in enchanting beaches, charming historic centres, quality restaurants, and characteristic boutiques.

Each cottage has a private bleached wooden terrace for each room, furnished with a shaded relaxation area. The heart of the property is the large terrace overlooking the sea, with an outdoor dining area, relaxation areas and panoramic corners. A path leads to the gate that opens onto a stone terrace by the sea, with a shaded pergola and sunbeds for relaxing between swims. Outside are two cold-water showers: one on the stone terrace and one on the lawn terrace. Sunbeds are distributed across various terraces. Amenities and feature
Location and distances
We are in the extreme south of Sicily, in Ispica, on the splendid beaches of Porto Ulisse. The town stands on a promontory overlooking the sea, where history and nature meet among Baroque churches and the wonderful Cava d'Ispica. A few kilometres to the east are Portopalo di Capo Passero, the southernmost point of Italy with its panoramic lighthouse, and Marzamemi, a charming fishing village with stone houses, small squares overlooking the sea and typical restaurants. To the west is the port of Pozzallo, with connections to Malta. To the north, just 20 minutes away, is Noto, pearl of Sicilian Baroque, while about 40 minutes away is Syracuse, set between the island of Ortigia and the famous Greek Theatre. Nearby, one can also visit Modica, Scicli, and Ragusa, Baroque cities listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, all easily accessible by car. The sea is accessible directly from the house via a private path leading down to a rocky bay. A short distance away, reached on foot or in a few minutes by car, are both equipped beaches and free sandy beaches. In addition, the area between Ispica and Pozzallo, particularly Santa Maria del Focallo, is popular with kitesurfers.
